BOSTON – CyberWarrior Academy, a social enterprise of Advoqt Technology Group, has been honored as one of Massachusetts’ Top 10 Game-Changing Equity Ideas at the Get Konnected! 10th Anniversary Special Celebration.
Founded as a Social Impact Venture in 2008, Get Konnected! is the brainchild of Colette Phillips, President and CEO of Colette Phillips Communications, Incorporated. The organization is the creator of the historic GK100, Boston’s first comprehensive list of the 100 Most Influential People of Color. It is also behind GK10 which celebrates Massachusetts’ Most Game Changing Equity Ideas. Each year on its anniversary, Get Konnected! honors and spotlights corporations, institutions and individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
This year, Get Konnected! GK 10 celebrated Advoqt Technology Group and its social enterprises, Diversity IT Network (DITN) and CyberWarrior Academy (CWA) for being game-changing initiatives with the potential to transform Boston into America’s most equitable and inclusive city. Leveraging its “Technology for Good” philosophy, Advoqt addresses the opportunity gap by providing diverse communities with the training and networks they need to achieve economic mobility.
DITN is a social and professional membership organization for people of color and their allies in the technology sector. CyberWarrior Academy is a cybersecurity training and workforce development program for diverse IT professionals looking to get the cybersecurity certifications, professional development and technical skills they need to immediately jump into a cybersecurity role. CWA was founded with the purpose of filling the growing demand of cybersecurity jobs in the United States with people of color, women, and veterans. These social enterprises were founded by Reinier Moquete, CEO of Advoqt Technology Group, and a 2018 recipient of the GK100 Most Influential People of Color Award.
Cybersecurity jobs are among the fastest growing in the United States.
